International Cooperation

Scope and coverage:

- Principle No. 10 of the UN Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics: Bilateral and multilateral cooperation in statistics contributes to the improvement of systems of official statistics in all countries.

- Coordination of statistical activities across international and supranational statistical organizations

- Promotion of international cooperation in statistics, adherence to international commitments and adoption of internationally-recognized statistical principles, declarations, and best practices.

- SDG 17 calls for the revitalization of global partnership for sustainable development

- International cooperation programs, conventions/conferences, seminars, expert group meetings, trainings, and workshops

- Commitments to UN Statistical Bodies (incl. ESCAP) and the ASEAN Community Statistical System (ACSS)

- Commitments to new statistical development agenda (e.g., Cape Town Global Action Plan, Bogota Declaration on Big Data)
